- Sorry Lee. But "doing a little research as part of job at NewTek" equals
- NewTek in my book. The fact that you were acting on your own initiative w/out
- specific direction is beside the point. At the time you were a known
- employee/representative of NewTek. I forget, however, if you had NewTek
- in your .sig though. Unless you were doing something that NewTek specifically
- did NOT want you to do, I think you were an agent of NewTek. And even if you
- were acting against their wishes, you probably were still legally an agent of
- NewTek. I'm not a lawyer, but I did recently finish up a Business Law class
- and I was awake the day we covered agency.
-
- I do grant, however, that my short blurb does not necesarily fully represent
- the tone of the request and other related circumstances. For instance, I seem
- to recall you metioning at the time that one of the principles at NewTek
- (Jenison?)did not place much importance in NewTek being "on-line".
-
- Of course this is all beside the point. The point was that clearly NewTek had
- not finalized their copy protection plan in January. Making the choice of
- methods, securing a supply of devices (if needed), coding, and documenting
- would clearly take some time even if the rest of the program was ready to
- roll.
